By BILL SIAMAN The Associated PressAUSTIN, Texas (AP) A Texas woman says she spent three months in prison after her husband forced her to wear a gold dress while she was in prison.
A judge ordered the man, whose name has not been released, to stay away from her and his three children until she is released.
Her husband, who has a history of mental illness, is serving a life sentence for the 2008 slaying of 25-year-old Joanna White.
The husband has pleaded not guilty.
Prosecutors said the woman was raped, and she says her husband told her to do something because he didn’t want to kill her.
“He said, ‘I’m not going to kill you,’ ” she told the Associated Press.
“I was scared and confused and upset, and I just felt like, I’m not being taken care of anymore.
He’s going to do anything to keep me here.”
The woman’s attorney said the husband is now cooperating with investigators.
He said he hopes the case will lead to more convictions.
Prosecutors filed the indictment in June after the woman said she was attacked by her husband, whose other wife had been convicted of murdering her sister and threatened to kill the couple if they ever got married.
The two were married in 2013.
The woman said her husband repeatedly hit her on her back and back, and forced her into wearing a gold chain and gold-plated shoes while she worked as a sex worker.
She said her wife told her she was going to be shot if she didn’t stop working, and her husband kept calling her by her first name.
The AP contacted the judge’s office but did not hear back.
In her complaint, the woman also says she had to endure a humiliating sexual assault and that her husband also forced her in a sex act and forced his two children to watch.
She said her children were asleep when the assault occurred, and that she was awakened by the sound of her mother screaming and the men in the room shouting that she would be raped.
The children woke her and called the police.
In the complaint, she said she had flashbacks and flashbacks to the attack, which she describes as “brutal, brutal, terrifying, and humiliating.”
Her attorney said that while the lawsuit was filed in the spring, the wife has been in a legal hold for several months and hasn’t been able to get any of her money.
