AUSTRALIAN artist Alyssa Kostal has explored her bamboo clothing collection and found that she’s quite a fan of the Japanese fabric.
“Bamboo fabric is so great,” Ms Kostat said.
“It’s not only beautiful, it’s so soft.”
She is a self-taught artisan who makes bamboo garments and sells them online.
“I love the fact that bamboo is soft and not like the plastic stuff that you get in your local shop,” Ms Bhattacharya said.
The Australian is a graduate of Sydney’s prestigious Art School of Fine Arts and spent two years working in a textile mill in China.
“At the end of the day I love it because it’s organic, organic, it doesn’t come with any chemicals, and it’s free,” she said.
Ms Kustal’s bamboo garments are inspired by a number of traditional Japanese garments, including a “bamboo gown” and a “pigskin coat” for female kimonos.
Ms Bhatacharya is also known for her clothing collections for the Chinese New Year and a large number of Chinese and Korean clothing styles.
“The Chinese New Years, I make them in bamboo because they have bamboo,” she explained.
“For me, that’s one of the most beautiful things about the Chinese culture.
I don’t have a big tradition in my culture and I’m not even really familiar with it.”
My bamboo garments I’ve always liked and wanted to create something for the people in China.
“Ms Kornal said she wanted to give a different spin to traditional Chinese garments, which were often made of fabric made from bamboo and often were meant to be worn with the headdress.
She is now working on a series of clothing that is all bamboo and is currently selling through her website.
She said she has found that traditional Chinese clothing is more than just a fashion accessory, and she is looking to tap into this passion for the fabric.
“There are so many ways to make bamboo and it can be used in a myriad of different ways.””
What I like most about bamboo is that it’s made with organic materials,” she told ABC News.

I’ve always wanted to make things that look natural and sustainable.
It’s a very traditional Japanese style and it has the most elaborate detail, which I love,” she added.”
One of my favourite pieces is the bamboo vest for the kimono.
